Historic Jones Building Update

The massive building that would stand as a city block in many communities anchors the eastern side of Cannon Park. The building has served as the focal point of the central business district since 1879, when it originally opened as the Jones Mercantile.

Glass no longer accepted in single stream recycling program

March 1, 2017 

Glass bottles, jars and containers will no longer be accepted in the City of Canton’s single stream recycling program. Glass was recently removed from single stream recycling due to the decreased value to recycle the material. Area glass processors are no longer able to accept glass because mixed glass from single stream recycling collections and processing operations have been rejected by secondary processors and as a result has no marketable value.
